Yury Raksha - the famous Soviet painter , art director of the Soviet cinema.
Yuri Raksha was born December 2, 1937 in Ufa. He became fond of painting since childhood. Already ten years began to attend the Ufa art studio DK Kalinin. In Moscow, he entered the Art School at the Institute. Surikov, from which he graduated with a silver medal. After training at the Art Department of VGIK and began working as art director at Mosfilm. He has designed more than 10 feature films, including "Time, Forward!", "Dersu Uzala", "Ascension". I worked with directors as A.Freydin, M.A.Shveytser, Monosarov, A.Kurosava Larisa Shepitko. For his work on the film Kurosawa's "Dersu Uzala" in 1976 Yuri Raksha received the "Oscar".
In addition to his work in film, he became famous as an outstanding artist. Yuri Raksha wrote more than two hundred of paintings, hundreds of graphic works and sketches, and illustrated about 20 books.
