Ibn Khaldun (his full name is Abu Zaid Abu Al-Rahman bin Mohammed Al Hadrami) - was a great thinker and politician of Eastern Middle Ages.

In Tunisia, recognizing and taking into account its important role in the country's history, it was a monument. Its located in the center of Independence Square - the main square in Tunis.

Statue, white stone which is mounted on a pedestal, is made of a dark color metal. thinker figure represented a full-length with a book in her hand, he dressed in national Tunisian clothes. In form and style of modeling is very simplified, individual parts of it are not worked through. But the monument looks very succinctly, rigorously and beautiful.

I must say that the idea of installation of the monument is in itself revolutionary, as Muslim tradition prohibits making images of people.
